Prime Minister Frederiksen Demands Respect for Women Leaders Over Appearance

In a recent Instagram post, Denmark’s prime minister Mette Frederiksen displayed a message from a plastic surgeon who offered to correct a small blemish on her nose. She responded that she is content with her looks and does not need a male surgeon’s input.

Frederiksen recounted that she has repeatedly been told to fix her teeth, change her hair or consider Botox. She made it clear that she does not critique others based on looks and expects the same treatment.

The leader called on citizens to focus conversations on pressing policy issues rather than her nose. She also highlighted the broader problem of women in politics being evaluated for their appearance rather than their achievements, offering support to anyone affected by such scrutiny.

Since 2019, Frederiksen has served as Denmark’s second female prime minister, gaining attention for her firm support of Ukraine and her criticism of U.S. policy toward Greenland.
