Parliamentary vote clears FTA, fast‑track implementation with India

The New Zealand Parliament’s decisive vote—93 in favour and 26 against—has cleared the free‑trade agreement with India. Todd McLoughlin explained that the next step is to convert the agreement into law and exchange diplomatic notes. He projected that, once India finalises its part, the agreement could be effective within a month, boosting trade, investment and renewable‑energy cooperation.
