Parliamentary Friendship Group Set to Deepen Kenya-India Legislative Links

The Indian High Commission in Nairobi posted on X that High Commissioner Adarsh Swaiqa’s meeting with Principal Secretary Korir Singoe covered key aspects of Kenya‑India relations, including the forthcoming high‑level exchange.

Swaiqa stressed the importance of a vibrant trade and investment framework, noting that a friendly business climate is essential for future growth. He also referenced his earlier engagement with the Kenyan Prime Minister’s Cabinet Secretary and the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Musalia W. Mudavadi, where they exchanged ideas on deepening partnership.

In August, Kenyan National Assembly Speaker Mojes Wetangula travelled to India, meeting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The two speakers discussed the long‑standing friendship between their parliaments and highlighted the role of the newly formed Parliamentary Friendship Group in fostering greater legislative interaction and mutual understanding.
