Pakistan labelled hostile for calling demonstrators ‘enemies’ in POJK, says India

New Delhi – India’s foreign ministry has condemned Pakistan’s description of peaceful protesters in the occupied region of Jammu‑Kashmir as “enemies”. The ministry’s spokesperson said that this rhetoric, echoed by Pakistan’s defence minister, reveals a systematic hostility toward civilian expression.

According to the statement, the security operation has resulted in the death of over forty unarmed citizens and left hundreds more with life‑threatening injuries. The spokesperson urged international human‑rights mechanisms to investigate the incidents and to hold the Pakistani authorities responsible for violating basic civil liberties.

The statement also cited recent comments from a senior political aide, noting that militants once trained by Pakistan are now opposing the government, highlighting a deepening crisis in the region.
