Pabitra Margherita Visits Kalinago Territory, Boosts India-Dominica Ties

Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita embarked on a meaningful visit to the Kalinago Territory in Dominica, where she reiterated India's strong support for the indigenous community. Through ongoing partnerships with the UNDP, India is actively contributing to the socio-economic upliftment of the Kalinago people. During her tour, the minister inspected Quick Impact Projects in Grand Bay and Saint Found Jean, praising their role in community development. She also held productive discussions with Dominica's Foreign Minister Vince Henderson, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, health, and energy sectors. A key highlight was the exchange of two Memorandums of Understanding, including one on pharmacopoeia. Margherita also met Dominica's first female President Sylvanie Burton, conveying greetings from Indian leadership. The visit marks another step in India's commitment to building enduring partnerships across the Caribbean, rooted in mutual respect and shared values.
