No Talks on Hormuz Reopening as Iran Blames US Naval Actions

Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghei told reporters that the Hormuz Strait will stay closed while the United States maintains its naval blockade. He said the closure resulted from "military aggression" by the US and Israel and that reopening the strait is contingent on Washington ending its punitive naval campaign.

Baghei also mentioned that Iran is negotiating with Oman on a separate shipping route, describing it as a bilateral issue. However, the Iranian foreign minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, emphasized that no dialogue with the United States is currently happening. He added that any future talks will only begin after the US stops violating memorandums of understanding and makes reparations for past breaches.
