No nuclear deal for Iran: Netanyahu outlines ten‑year military plan

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used a graduation speech for Israeli Air Force cadets to reiterate a cornerstone of his administration’s policy: Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons, deal or no deal.

He detailed a sweeping defence initiative that will inject 350 billion shekels (approximately $116 billion) into Israel’s military budget over the next decade. The program focuses on expanding the air force’s capabilities and launching a large‑scale domestic arms industry to curb dependence on overseas suppliers.

These remarks arrived as U.S.–Iran confrontations intensify, with President Donald Trump declaring the nuclear agreement window closed. Israel’s Defence Minister Yoav Gallant affirmed that the armed forces are on standby for renewed operations, and IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi highlighted constant monitoring of Iranian and Lebanese developments.

Gallant also confirmed that Israeli troops will continue to operate in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is completely disarmed. He described a fortified security belt stretching from the Mediterranean Sea across the western border, covering the Beaufort Castle near the Arnon River and extending east to the Mount Hermon highlands.
