The 15th Five‑Year Plan (2026‑2030) will focus on expanding and modernising China’s archaeological parks. Authorities will integrate smart monitoring tools such as satellite remote sensing, drones and Internet‑of‑Things sensors to track site conditions in real time. Parks that fail to meet conservation standards or stall research will receive formal warnings, and persistent under‑performance could lead to removal from the national list. The plan aims to preserve not only grand ruins but also ancient settlements, historic towns, palaces and tombs that document a human history spanning a million years.
