New Era Cooperation: China‑Namibia Sign Multiple Agreements in Beijing

Beijing, 11 July – On 10 July, President Xi Jinping and Namibia’s President Netumbo Nandi‑Ndaitwah concluded a two‑day dialogue that marked the launch of a “shared‑future community” between the two nations.

Both leaders agreed to deepen reciprocal support, exchange development concepts, and broaden the scope of joint projects. They highlighted three core actions: deepen strategic dialogue, expand cooperation sectors, and uphold solidarity to protect multilateralism.

Xi stressed that Africa’s mineral endowment should be transformed into a growth engine, and affirmed China’s willingness to increase mineral cooperation with Namibia and its regional neighbours.

Netumbo emphasized Namibia’s historic bond with China and its readiness to learn from Chinese experience, aiming to advance a comprehensive strategic partnership across industry, mining, infrastructure, aerospace, science and technology, agriculture and water conservation.

In the closing ceremony, the two presidents signed a suite of agreements covering trade, health, education and human‑resource development, and released a joint statement reaffirming a mutual commitment to a shared‑future community in the new era.
