Morrison Praises India's Quad Role and Future Space Power Ambitions

Morrison stressed that India’s active participation is central to the success of the Quad (the United States, Japan, Australia and India). He said New Delhi’s contribution is a decisive factor in the group’s achievements and that the alliance should give greater emphasis to the Indian Ocean region. The former prime minister also highlighted India’s growing focus on maritime security, noting that the Quad’s agenda now places the ‘Indo‑Pacific’ at the forefront. He praised Foreign Minister Jaishankar and his deputy for their vigilance on maritime issues that extend beyond the Pacific to the entire Indian Ocean basin.
