Modi's Sweden Visit Marks New Era of Bilateral Trade
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sweden added a fresh dimension to Indo‑Swedish relations. High‑level meetings with Swedish Prime Minister, the Crown Princess and senior business leaders resulted in the signing of the strategic partnership agreement.
During the talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to double trade volume by 2030. The focus will be on high‑value sectors such as AI‑driven solutions, renewable energy, telecom infrastructure and mining technology. Ambassador Menander highlighted that Swedish firms have been operating in India for more than a hundred years, and the new framework will enable deeper integration of supply chains.
The partnership also seeks to boost investment flows, simplify regulatory procedures and create joint innovation hubs that can serve regional markets.
