In a landmark moment for Indo-Israeli relations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Speaker of the Knesset Medal, Israel’s top legislative honor, during his visit to Jerusalem. Modi graciously dedicated the accolade to the unbreakable bond between the two nations.
The prestigious medal salutes Modi’s visionary contributions to elevating strategic partnerships in security, trade, and innovation. On social media platform X, the Prime Minister shared, ‘Receiving the Knesset Medal fills me with immense pride. I humbly accept it as a tribute to India-Israel friendship and our common values.’
India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar praised the recognition, calling it a fitting tribute to Modi’s steadfast commitment to nurturing bilateral ties.
Following the ceremony, PM Modi addressed the Knesset, expressing gratitude and announcing, ‘The Indian Parliament has established a dedicated group for Israel. I extend a warm invitation to visit India and foster more parliamentary exchanges.’
Highlighting economic synergies, Modi pointed to India’s rapid growth trajectory: ‘As the fastest-expanding major economy, India is poised to enter the top three globally. Together, we aim to enhance trade volumes, investment linkages, and collaborative infrastructure projects.’
Philosophically, Modi bridged ancient wisdoms, contrasting Israel’s ethos of world repair with India’s global family vision. ‘These principles transcend boundaries, uniting us in purpose,’ he said.
The event marks another chapter in the evolving saga of India-Israel cooperation, built on mutual respect and shared aspirations for peace and prosperity.
