Modi’s upcoming Ottawa visit expected to accelerate CEPA finalisation

During their March summit in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Carney pledged to complete CEPA negotiations by the end of the year and to deepen cooperation in energy and critical minerals. Their joint statement highlighted that a comprehensive trade framework would lay a durable economic foundation and support a shared goal of raising bilateral trade to CAD 70 billion (about ₹4.65 lakh crore) by 2030.
