Modi’s Leadership Cited as Model for World at Trade Mission

During a high‑profile trade mission to the Indian capital, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership as a template for other nations. He commended the prime minister for steering India through challenging periods and emerging as a technological powerhouse.

Gianforte referenced the recently released book “Power Within,” which outlines India’s transition from a primarily agrarian economy to a leader in modern technology without abandoning its farming heritage. He noted that Modi’s focus on internal development first set the stage for a stronger voice on the world stage.

The governor pointed to Modi’s active involvement in G20 discussions, describing it as a pivotal factor in elevating India’s global standing. He added that the prime minister’s ability to balance principle‑driven governance with pragmatic diplomacy has been essential.

Addressing the anticipated India‑U.S. trade accord, Gianforte stressed that equitable and reciprocal trade practices are vital, highlighting the shared significance of agriculture in both nations. He expressed optimism that a formal agreement would cement a lasting commercial partnership.

In addition, Gianforte praised the U.S. legislative acknowledgment of Indian pilot Smita Machhar’s bravery, labeling her actions as heroic and a beacon of courage for the international community.
