Military actions spark families’ distress in Gwadar district

The Baloch Yakeenati Committee has raised an alarm over the forced disappearance of Asgar Ali from Jivani village in Gwadar district and the subsequent pressure placed on his relatives. According to the committee, security forces repeatedly raided the family’s house, harassed members, forced statements under duress and ultimately razed the dwelling with heavy equipment. The group claims this is part of a broader “Baloch genocide” policy that seeks to punish the entire population through collective suffering.

BYC officials say that in recent months the army has accelerated operations that involve burning, smashing and demolishing homes across Balochistan, often accompanied by looting of property. They argue that evicting civilians without any legal warrant or court order, exposing families to extreme heat and then destroying their shelters, represents the harshest form of state repression.
