Mayor Mamadani Calls Netanyahu a War Criminal, Urges Trump to Act

Mayor Zoran Mamadani of New York publicly branded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "war criminal" and demanded that President Donald Trump ensure his arrest during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in September. While the mayor's office examined every possible legal avenue, it concluded that New York City cannot independently enforce the International Criminal Court's warrant.

Mamadani stressed that only the federal government has the authority to act on the ICC order, urging Washington to intervene on his behalf.
