Mauritius' AIPS Institute names retired Dr. Bhumaa V.G. as chancellor

Washington, August 12 – The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Public Service and Innovation (AIPS) in Mauritius has announced the appointment of Dr. Bhumaa V.G., a retired Indian Revenue Service officer, as its new Vice Chancellor. The institute, originally launched as the Civil Service College, Mauritius, received a $4.74 million construction grant in 2017 and was officially inaugurated in March 2025 by the leaders of India and Mauritius. Under Dr. Bhumaa’s leadership, AIPS aims to evolve into a premier African training institution, offering both diploma and degree programmes and serving as a hub for public‑service capacity building across the region.
