Maldives’ arrogance has not diminished! President Mohammad Muizzu warned India, said- Indian Army should leave Maldives by March 15

Male. Amidst the ongoing tension between India and Maldives regarding tourism, Maldivian President Mohammed Muizzu has warned India and ordered the Indian Army to leave Maldives by March 15. He gave this statement during a press conference in Maldives today. Earlier, Muizu said, “Even though we are a small country, no one has the license to threaten us. Maldives is not the property of any particular country.” This attitude of President Muizz has suddenly changed after returning from the recent visit to China, due to which there is a danger of increasing tension in India-Maldives relations.

At a press conference on Sunday afternoon, Muizzu said at a press conference today, “We are an independent nation and are not ready to let any country intimidate us. The presence of Indian soldiers on our land is a violation of our sovereignty. Therefore, I urge the Indian government to withdraw its troops from Maldives by March 15.” Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim, Public Policy Secretary in the President’s Office, said that President Muizu has formally asked India to withdraw its military personnel by March 15.

After this statement of Muizu, there has been no official response from India yet. But it is believed that India will raise this matter at the diplomatic level. It is noteworthy that India has always played an active role in the security and development of Maldives. During the 2004 tsunami, India provided large-scale relief and rescue to Maldives. Apart from this, India also provides many types of economic and military assistance to Maldives.

There are 88 Indian military personnel in Maldives

Maldives and India have formed a high-level core group to discuss the withdrawal of troops. The group held its first meeting at the Ministry of External Affairs headquarters in Male on Sunday morning. Indian High Commissioner Munu Mahawar also attended the meeting. According to Indian Government data, there are 88 Indian military personnel in Maldives.

Let us tell you that the comments made by three Maldivian Deputy Ministers during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep last November had further increased this tension. However, the Maldives government later condemned these comments and suspended them. After this incident, a situation of tension is being created between the two countries.
