Macau Space Dream 2026 Highlights Youth Engagement and Learning

Beijing, 12 July – The final ceremony of the Macau Space Dream Programme 2026 took place on Saturday in the Macau SAR, celebrating the achievements of nearly 300 attendees from academia, schools and industry.

Chui Sai Peng, chair of the Macau Science and Technology Association, emphasized that the initiative is more than a space‑science curriculum; it aims to foster patriotism and inspire innovation among Macau’s younger generation.

The programme began in May and offered two distinct activities. The primary event was a secondary‑school creative design competition where participants drafted space‑experiment plans, explored payload technologies and received specialized training. The companion activity was a space‑experience camp for primary‑school learners, featuring a visit to the Chuhai Space Centre in Quanghai Province, where they learned about human spaceflight, deep‑space missions and stations.

Winners of the secondary competition will journey to Beijing for field trips to major Chinese space organisations, museums and universities. The gold‑winning team will also represent Macau at the global International Space Science and Payload Competition.

Fang Jin, a student from Macau Tung Sin Tong Secondary School, remarked that the programme provided practical insights that textbooks could not deliver.

The event was a collaborative effort between the Macau Science and Technology Association and the Chinese Space Society, continuing the mission launched in 2024 to merge education, hands‑on training and research for Macau’s aspiring scientists.
