Luxembourg’s Foreign Trade Minister Calls for Deeper India Ties

Jevair Betel, serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Head of Foreign and Trade for Luxembourg, arrived in India on 7 September for a high‑level diplomatic mission lasting three days. He met Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar in New Delhi, emphasizing the long historical relationship between the two nations. Betel highlighted that Luxembourg’s technological progress in digital, financial and space sectors heavily relies on Indian expertise. The schedule included a stop in Chennai on 8 September to inspect the IIT Madras campus, underscoring the importance of academic and research collaboration.
