Lost Passports Delay Indian Travelers En Route to Chicago
A family from Hyderabad, identified as Rajeshwari Bola and her children, missed their connecting flight to Chicago after their passports went missing on a Cathay Pacific service.
The luggage that held two Indian passports and two U.S. passports was misplaced during the transit from Hyderabad to Hong Kong. Without valid documents, the family could not clear immigration and has been confined to the Hong Kong airport terminal.
The incident triggered a social media outcry, prompting Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh to involve the Ministry of External Affairs. The family posted photos of their boarding pass and the airport waiting area, urging anyone who traveled on the same flight to check for the lost documents.
Authorities are reportedly checking baggage records, but the family remains in limbo, awaiting a replacement passport to resume their journey.
