Long March Victory Anniversary Gold and Silver Coins Issued

China's central bank has issued a new set of gold and silver commemorative coins marking the 90th anniversary of the Red Army's Long March victory. The People's Bank of China announced the release on October 22 in Beijing.

The package contains one gold coin and one silver coin. Both are recognized as legal tender in the People's Republic of China.

Each coin carries the national emblem, the country's name, and the year on its front face.

The Gold Coin

The 8-gram round gold coin features an image of a five-pointed star, the hammer and sickle, and radiating light on its back. The design also shows the Red Army moving across snow-capped peaks and grasslands. Its inscriptions include "The 90th Anniversary of the Victory of the Long March of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army," "1936-2026," and the value. Only 10,000 units will be struck at maximum.

The Silver Coin

The 30-gram round silver coin depicts sculptural figures that show the Red Army's Long March toward northern Shaanxi, as well as the Pagoda Hill at Yan'an. It is inscribed with the same commemorative text, the years 1936-2026, and the denomination. The maximum mintage stands at 20,000 pieces.

The coin set serves as a tribute to a historic achievement that remains central to the nation's revolutionary heritage.
