New Delhi. Before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India has taken a big action. The Commission has transferred non-cadre officers. These officers are posted in leadership positions as District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) in Odisha, Gujarat, West Bengal and Punjab. The Commission has also issued orders in this regard.
Actually, the posts of DM and SP in every district are for Indian Administrative and Indian Police Service officers. Not only this, the Election Commission has also transferred IPS relatives of leaders in Assam and Punjab.
According to the order issued, SSP of Bathinda in Punjab and SP of Sonitpur in Assam have been transferred. The Election Commission has taken this decision because the officials of the relatives of the leaders are directly involved in the election work.
Among the officers for whom transfer order has been issued are the SPs of Chhota Udaipur and Ahmedabad rural districts of Gujarat. In Punjab, SSPs of Pathankot, Fazilka, Jalandhar Rural and Malerkotla districts are also included.
