Latvia Declares Red and Orange Weather Warnings as Cyclone Hits

Local authorities sent multiple mobile‑alert messages urging citizens to stay indoors and avoid travel as the storm intensified.

Outdoor events slated for the weekend were cancelled, and the state fire and rescue service recorded a sharp rise in emergency calls related to fallen trees and blocked roads.

Officials emphasized that the orange alert remains in force for the entire nation until conditions improve.
