The investigation is also extending to health‑care providers, where foreign workers have been placed in clinics and hospitals under questionable conditions.

D'Esposto warned that the misuse of employment‑based visas is not confined to factories alone; it also jeopardizes patient safety when unqualified or undocumented staff are employed in medical settings. The probe will therefore examine records from hospitals, nursing homes, and other health‑care institutions across the country.

The Office of the Inspector General is working closely with federal prosecutors to bring charges against any entities found to be violating immigration law, ensuring that both corporate and health‑care sectors are held accountable.
