Kusum Healthcare Seeks Indian Govt Help After Ukraine Drone Strike

Following the October 4 drone attack on its Sumi manufacturing hub, Kusum Healthcare issued an urgent plea to the Indian government for intervention. The strike killed one employee on the premises and injured several others, while causing damage estimated above five million dollars.

The pharmaceutical company, which operates production units in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and exports drugs to 22 nations, condemned the targeting of its life‑saving medicine plant. It reminded officials of a similar drone assault in April 2025 that destroyed a Ukrainian warehouse and resulted in losses exceeding one billion hryvnia.

Kusum Healthcare stressed that the incident threatens both its workforce and patients who rely on its medicines. The firm asked diplomatic channels to be activated to protect private health‑care facilities operating in conflict zones and to ensure the continuity of essential drug supplies.
