Korea‑South East Power and Doosan Await New Search Permission

Both Korea South‑East Power and Doosan Enerbility have received tentative approval to launch another helicopter search over the flood‑stricken zone. The companies said they are ready to fly as soon as Nepalese officials grant final clearance.

A senior officer from Korea South‑East Power explained that the missing workers are believed to be located near a base camp, where safety protocols often move personnel to higher ground during emergencies. "If the helicopter permission is granted, we will conduct a thorough sweep of that area," the officer added.

Doosan has also prepared to deploy drones over potential locations where the stranded employees might be waiting for help. The company said its drones are equipped with thermal imaging to locate heat signatures beneath the debris.

The Nepalese government, citing deteriorating weather conditions and the danger of additional landslides, has so far restricted foreign rescue teams from flying over certain hotspots without explicit clearance.
