In a series of strategic dialogues during his Myanmar visit, Union Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh connected with influential think tanks and academic institutions. Discussions spanned the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, Center for Peace and Reconciliation, Rakhine cultural representatives, and the bilateral friendship association.

Talks extended to scholars from Yangon and Foreign Language Universities, addressing shared priorities. Singh posted photos on social media, capturing the essence of these meaningful interactions.

Embracing environmental advocacy, he planted a tree under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative at Yangon’s India House, symbolizing India’s dedication to green legacies under PM Modi’s guidance.

The highlight was a lively reception hosted by Indian expatriates, drawing more than 300 attendees. Singh lauded their pivotal role in bridging India and Myanmar, while outlining welfare programs like OCI cards, educational scholarships, and cultural exchange initiatives via ICCR.

This four-day sojourn, invited by Myanmar authorities, underscores bilateral momentum. Singh will attend the presidential inauguration in Naypyidaw tomorrow, representing India amid global attendees.

With General Min Aung Hlaing’s recent election as president, the ceremony holds geopolitical weight. Amid India’s Act East drive, Myanmar’s strategic position enhances connectivity via land, sea, and Kaladan projects.

Singh’s proactive diplomacy fosters peace, trade, and people-to-people links, positioning India as a reliable partner in Southeast Asia’s evolving landscape.
