Kinchasa, Congo and Jakarta Also Feature in Top Pollution Rankings

The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Kinshasa led the list with an alarming AQI of 188, while Indonesia’s Jakarta followed closely with a score of 149. Both cities are experiencing severe smog events driven by vehicle emissions, industrial output, and seasonal biomass burning. According to the AQI classification, readings between 151 and 200 are deemed "unhealthy", meaning the entire population may experience adverse health effects.
