Key Agreements Expected at 16th India-Japan Leaders' Summit in Delhi

The 16th India‑Japan Annual Summit, slated for July 2, will serve as the centerpiece of Prime Minister Takaiichi’s visit. One of the summit’s headline items is the advancement of the “Economic Security Cooperation” declaration signed last year, which aims to strengthen defence capabilities, joint exercises and strategic coordination between the two armed forces. In addition to security matters, the leaders will review progress on existing agreements on trade, investment, and semiconductor supply chains, and are likely to sign fresh MoUs on clean energy projects, AI collaboration, and digital connectivity. The outcomes of these talks are expected to set the tone for a more integrated Indo‑Japanese partnership across multiple sectors.
