Who is Justice Yashwant Verma?
Justice Yashwant Verma was born on 6 January 1969. He obtained a BCom (Honors) degree from Hansraj College, Delhi University. Subsequently, in 1992, he completed law studies from Rewa University. On 8 August 1992, he registered as a lawyer and started advocacy in Allahabad High Court.
Justice Yashwant Verma was sworn in as a judge in the Delhi High Court in October 2021. Earlier, he held several important positions in the Allahabad High Court. He was appointed as Additional Judge on 13 October 2014 and was promoted as a permanent judge on 1 February 2016. Subsequently, he was transferred to the Delhi High Court on 11 October 2021.

His judicial career began on 13 October 2014, when he was appointed Additional Judge of Allahabad High Court. On 1 February 2016, he was sworn in as a permanent judge. After this, he was transferred to the Delhi High Court on 11 October 2021. Recently, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer to Allahabad High Court on 20 March 2025.

After this, his transfer was recommended in the collegium meeting. After this development, some judges expressed concern that only transfer could harm the reputation of the judiciary, so the process of investigation and impeachment is also being considered.
