Joint Focus on Coastal Guard Capacity and EEZ Monitoring

The meetings placed particular emphasis on expanding the capacity of Mauritius’ National Coast Guard. India offered assistance with vessel upgrades, crew training, and the establishment of a coastal radar network. A bilateral mechanism for sharing maritime domain awareness data was proposed to improve EEZ monitoring and combat illegal fishing and navigation.
