Japanese Cabinet Highlights Expanding Public‑Private Collaboration with India

A senior spokesperson from Japan’s cabinet posted on the official X account that Prime Minister Kishida will travel to India with a sizable business entourage. The message underscored the administration’s intention to broaden public‑private collaboration as a pillar of Indo‑Japanese relations.

The prime minister is set to meet Indian counterparts to discuss ways to deepen cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, defence, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, automotive manufacturing and supply‑chain resilience. He reiterated that shared democratic values and common strategic interests are the foundation of a durable partnership.

The Japanese business delegation, exceeding 150 members, will engage with Indian industry leaders, government agencies and research institutions. Their objective is to identify joint projects that can be executed through coordinated public‑private frameworks, thereby extending the partnership beyond diplomatic dialogue.

Kishida pledged to push for concrete measures that will lift economic ties to new levels, focusing on sectors that are critical for both economies. He highlighted the importance of joint ventures in technology, infrastructure and sustainable development as key drivers for future growth.

The upcoming three‑day visit is expected to catalyse a new phase of cooperation, strengthening economic, strategic and industrial links while reinforcing a resilient, long‑term alliance between Japan and India.
