Jaishankar Highlights Health, Energy and Digital Cooperation with CARICOM

During the post‑UNGA meeting, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar underscored the importance of expanding India‑CARICOM collaboration in several strategic domains. He called for stronger economic, digital and mobility links, noting that India has already delivered organ‑transplant camps and donated essential medical equipment such as haemodialysis units and the Bheem Cube compact device.

Jaishankar urged Caribbean partners to leverage the training programmes India offers, adapting them to local priorities in health, renewable energy and digital governance. He also cited India’s role in promoting solar power installations across the region and appealed to CARICOM states to consider joining the International Solar Alliance and the Global Biofuels Alliance.

The minister reaffirmed India’s dedication to acting as a powerful voice for the Global South, working together with CARICOM on shared challenges like climate change, terrorism and international crime at the United Nations and other global platforms.
