Israeli air strikes on Saturday resulted in the deaths of at least 70 Palestinians, including seven children ranging in age from two months to eight years. The attacks occurred amidst a call from US President Donald Trump for Israel to halt its bombing campaign in Gaza, following Hamas’s agreement to Trump’s proposed peace plan. The city of Gaza, a focal point of the ongoing military operations, experienced the highest number of casualties.
Reports from health officials indicate that 45 people died in Gaza City. Over a million Gazans have been impacted by the Israeli attacks, compelling them to leave their homes and seek refuge in southern Gaza.
In the Tuffah neighborhood, an airstrike on a residential building caused the deaths of 18 individuals and injured several others. Rescue teams reported damage to nearby structures as a result of the blast.
Israeli forces also targeted a displacement camp in al-Mawasi, southern Gaza, where residents had been instructed to evacuate. The attack resulted in the deaths of two children and injuries to at least eight others.
