Israel Marks Hindi Day with Hindi Greeting, Remembers Past Festival Collaborations

The Israeli diplomatic mission in New Delhi commemorated Hindi Day on September 14 by sharing a Hindi video greeting from Ambassador Ruwen Azar.

The ambassador’s message, posted on X, highlighted the shared heritage of Hindi and Hebrew, calling both languages “ancient yet vibrant.” He wished the Indian nation a “heartfelt Happy Hindi Day.”

Azar noted that he arrived in India two years ago and started learning Hindi soon after. “Namaste, I am Ruwen Azar, Israel’s ambassador. After two years of learning, I am delighted to celebrate Hindi Day with you in your own language,” he said.

Israel has a history of taking part in Indian celebrations. Earlier, the embassy observed Raksha Bandhan, where Indian staff tied a rakhi on an Israeli senior diplomat, reinforcing the message that India and Israel share a "strong and beautiful friendship."

These cultural gestures mirror the deepening strategic partnership that spans defense, technology, and trade, while reinforcing mutual respect for each other’s traditions.
