IRGC naval commander Ali Azamayi announced that vessels navigating the Strait of Hormuz must not deactivate their identification systems. The statement followed a recent explosion that destroyed a super‑tanker carrying crude oil after it entered a high‑risk area without proper clearance. The IRGC said the blast was caused by a mine impact and that any future violation, especially the shutdown of GPS and AIS, will trigger a defensive response.
