The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' central headquarters issued a warning that ships belonging to any country or corporation willing to accept payments from Iran's frozen accounts will be barred from navigating the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC spokesperson refuted the U.S. president's statement that American‑controlled Iranian funds would be applied to settle claims of damaged vessels. Tehran maintains that the losses were caused by U.S. operational risks and that the specific sea lane used south of Hormuz is illegal and unsafe in its view. Consequently, Iranian armed forces will prevent entry for all vessels that seek such compensation.
