Iranian foreign minister says Hormuz talks entering final phase

Sayyid Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, informed the cabinet that discussions with Oman regarding the Hormuz Strait have progressed to the final stage. The two countries are drafting a new traffic‑separation scheme designed to protect their sovereign rights while ensuring Iran’s national interests and security are upheld. Foreign ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei added that any settlement will be independent of the strait’s open or closed status. Defence minister Sayyid Majid Ebne al‑Reza also warned that Tehran will treat any hostile intimidation as a real and significant challenge, not just psychological warfare.
