Iran Says US Missile Attack Disrupted Water Supply to Thousands

Iranian officials reported that a recent US strike damaged a desalination plant in the coastal village of Bunji, located in Jask County, Hormozgan Province. The attack destroyed pumping stations and a power transformer, cutting off drinking‑water supplies for roughly 10,000 residents across twenty nearby villages.

Hamzeh Poor, head of Hormozgan Water and Wastewater Company, described the incident as creating a severe water crisis. Local authorities are working to restore service, but the loss of the facility has left communities scrambling for alternative sources.
