Iran Threatens Response, Highlights New Military Readiness
Tehran, 7 November – Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced the establishment of concealed underground sites for the assembly of ballistic missiles and drones, asserting that this move will significantly raise the lethality of its arsenal.
The IRGC spokesman said the shift from above‑ground factories to subterranean complexes allows for faster production while shielding key assets from surveillance and possible pre‑emptive strikes.
He emphasized a continuous effort to extend missile reach, claiming that any hostile nation’s assets now fall within Iran’s operational scope.
The declaration arrived as the United States escalated threats of direct action. In the early hours of Saturday, U.S. forces launched a small‑scale attack on Keshm Island, with Iranian authorities confirming that two missiles struck the island, though damage details remain limited.
President Donald Trump later characterized the strike as a brief targeting of Iran’s air‑defence installations and noted it was the second such incident targeting the island in recent days.
The IRGC warned that a repeat of hostile incursions would trigger “surprising new” military options, reinforcing Iran’s pledge to protect its existence, identity and territorial integrity without restriction.
Despite heightened tensions, officials from both capitals indicated that diplomatic negotiations are still in progress, even as Washington imposed sanctions on a group of Canadian firms linked to cryptocurrency financing of Iran.
