Iran Sends Science and Technology Leaders to BRICS Education Talks in Odisha
Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology has dispatched a senior delegation to participate in the BRICS Education Ministers’ meeting in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Acting Minister Dr. Masood Shamsh Baksh and Deputy Minister of Technology and Innovation Dr. Mohammad Nabi Shahiki Tash landed in New Delhi on Wednesday and are set to travel to the summit venue.
The Iranian team’s presence underscores the growing interest of Tehran in educational collaboration within the BRICS framework. While attending the three‑day conference, the officials will also tour prominent Indian scientific and technological institutions, as highlighted in an official announcement from the Iranian embassy.
The summit’s agenda includes a senior‑officials briefing on August 5, a joint ministerial discussion on August 6, and a formal ministers’ council on August 7, where India’s Education Minister Pralhad Joshi will take part. Discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation in education, fostering innovation, and advancing skills development among member countries.
