Iran president urges US to change policy amid currency slump

President Ebrahim Raisi addressed reporters in Tehran on Monday, calling on Washington to rethink its approach toward Iran. He argued that the United States' pressure tactics only complicate an already volatile situation and warned that coercive policies threaten regional stability.

Raisi emphasized that Iran will continue to safeguard its territorial integrity and pursue its legitimate rights under international law. He expressed optimism that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries could still achieve its intended goals if both sides remain committed and cooperate constructively.

The president’s remarks come as the rial slides to historic lows and domestic inflation climbs, putting additional strain on ordinary Iranians.
