Iran’s President Pledges Peace Path Under New MOU with United States
Tehran, August 9 – President Masoud Pezeshkian told reporters that Iran will pursue a peaceful trajectory outlined in the latest Memorandum of Understanding signed with the United States. He said the agreement creates a framework for dialogue, provided Washington actively works to restore confidence.
The president highlighted that Iran’s adherence to the MOU will be calibrated to the level of compliance demonstrated by the United States. He added that any escalation by the U.S. would be met with firm resistance, guided by the Supreme Leader’s ultimate decision.
The remarks came after Pezeshkian’s meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei, where both leaders examined the nation’s internal challenges and external threats, including recent attacks attributed to Israel and the United States.
Pezeshkian expressed optimism that a unified domestic front and strategic patience will enable Iran to navigate the geopolitical turbulence while safeguarding its sovereignty.
