Iran Offers Discounted Hotels and Opens Schools for Funeral Attendees
In response to the massive influx of mourners, the Iranian government announced special accommodations for those traveling to Tehran. Hotels across the capital will provide up to a 50 percent discount for guests attending the funeral. Additionally, more than 5,000 schools nationwide have been repurposed as temporary lodging facilities, offering roughly 40,000 to 50,000 classrooms for resting.
The Ministry of Education confirmed that the makeshift shelters, alongside mosques and sports complexes, will be equipped with basic amenities. Transportation routes, including bus and rail services, have been adjusted, and the Tehran metro, along with all state-run buses, will operate free of charge for funeral participants.
