The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy released a statement asserting that a container ship collided with a sea‑borne explosive tunnel south of the Hormuz Strait, causing an explosion and fire that led to the vessel's sinking. The navy reported the ship was carrying more than 2,500 containers. It warned other ships and fishing boats in the area to remain vigilant for floating containers that could pose collision risks. The claim follows earlier remarks by IRGC officials about 24‑hour control of the Gulf and Strait.
