Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed responsibility for firing ballistic missiles at an American base located inside Kuwait, marking a dangerous new phase in regional hostilities. Kuwaiti air defenses intercepted the incoming weapons, and no injuries were reported. The strike followed U.S. interception of Iranian drones launched from Bandar Abbas. In coordinated statements, the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia condemned the assault as an unacceptable breach of Kuwaiti sovereignty. The Emirates specifically called the attack an act of terrorism. All three nations pledged full support for any Kuwaiti measures to safeguard its territory. GCC chief Jasem Mohammed Al Budaiwi described the launches as contrary to international norms and the UN Charter. He reiterated the council’s commitment to Kuwait’s defense and stability. Analysts warn that continued tit-for-tat exchanges could draw additional powers into the conflict, threatening shipping lanes and oil supplies across the Gulf.
