Tensions in the Middle East intensified as the UAE and Jordan took decisive diplomatic action against Iran following attacks on key sites in their capitals. Foreign ministries in both countries summoned Iranian envoys, issuing strong condemnations and demands for accountability in what they describe as egregious assaults on their sovereignty.
From Amman, Jordan’s Foreign Ministry summoned the head of Iran’s diplomatic mission, lodging a formal complaint over the strikes. A ministry statement posted on X described the incidents as targeted aggression against Jordan and its Arab partners, amounting to profound violations of territorial integrity, international legal standards, and UN Charter provisions. These acts, they argued, pose severe risks to public safety and long-term peace in the region.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Fuad Al-Majali made it clear: Jordan insists on an end to attacks on its soil, full respect for its security, and compliance with global rules. The kingdom vowed to employ every available means to safeguard its people and uphold its sovereign rights, reflecting a hardened stance against perceived threats.
Echoing this resolve, UAE officials in Abu Dhabi called in Ambassador Reza Ameri, presenting a protest letter against the ‘terrorist’ operations. The ministry framed the attacks as direct challenges to UAE sovereignty, national defense, and all established international protocols.
State Minister Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar dismissed any excuses for targeting civilian areas, which put non-combatants at grave risk. He reiterated the UAE’s commitment to neutrality, refusing to permit its land for anti-Iran actions, and criticized the strikes as undermining de-escalation efforts and good neighbor policies.
Warning of fallout across diplomatic, trade, and economic fronts, Al Marar highlighted the strikes’ incompatibility with bilateral goodwill. This joint response from two key Arab states highlights escalating worries about Iranian provocations and their potential to disrupt regional equilibrium.
