In a rousing address to supporters in Lucknow on Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stewardship as the key driver behind India’s enhanced international prestige. The shift in global views towards India, he said, reflects the transformative impact of Modi’s policies and the government’s proactive approach.
Singh detailed the economic leapfrog: from vulnerability in the ‘Fragile Five’ group pre-2014 to a powerhouse in the world’s top economies today. This journey, fueled by decisive actions and public support, marks a new era for the nation.
Amid the West Asia turmoil, India stands out for its resilience. Global LPG and fuel shortages have hammered other nations with price surges, but India’s supply lines held firm. ‘Our tankers are navigating conflict waters securely,’ Singh said, crediting diplomatic finesse and Modi’s crisis management.
He cautioned against complacency, noting potential prolonged uncertainties without a peace breakthrough. Yet, the minister’s tone brimmed with optimism about India’s trajectory.
The day also saw Singh touring the UP Legislative Assembly Museum, where interactive displays evoked memories of his chief ministerial days. Posting on social media, he lauded the museum’s role in preserving democratic traditions and called on citizens to explore this gem, extending thanks to the UP government and Speaker Satish Mahana.
