Indian Cargo Ship Sinks After Houthi Bomb Boat Attack, Prompting Global Condemnation

Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack on the Indian‑flagged commercial vessel MSV Faiz‑e‑Nur Olia, describing it as a terrorist act that violated international maritime law. The ship was hit by an explosive‑laden boat while transiting the Red Sea, causing it to sink completely.

All 13 Indian crew members were rescued, according to Indian authorities, who also issued a strong statement denouncing the attack. The Yemeni ministry said the incident threatens safe navigation and the free flow of trade in international waters.

The condemnation follows a similar statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, which expressed solidarity with Yemen and confirmed the safety of its nationals.
